"One Band Aid later...." 2010-03-27 By Kavannah (New York, USA) The mirror arrived on time, courtesy of FedEx. As I unwrapped it, sharp splinters of glass fell out of the frame. I stepped aside quickly to avoid them, but one of them lodged in my finger. I screamed in pain, pulled the splinter out and backed off to a safer distance. The frame itself was broken into three jagged pieces. Other than that, it looked like a perfectly fine mirror.
I called customer service and told them my mirror had arrived broken in pieces. There was a pause on the line.
"You don't want the mirror?" the rep asked.
"It's broken. The glass is shattered. It's unusable."
Another pause.
"The mirror is defective?"
"The mirror itself is probably not defective. I can see myself perfectly clearly in the mirror, that is, in the part of the mirror that remains intact. Most of it, however, is lying in fragments all over my living room floor."
"It's not defective, but you would still like to return it?"
"What conceivable use would Amazon have for a few sharp shards of broken glass?"
Another pause.
I started to feel like I was reliving that wonderful John Cleese Dead Parrot skit. Except that my friendly Amazon customer service rep did end up ordering me a replacement mirror and promising they would use a different carrier to ship it. Better luck next time, I guess....
"Complete waste of money" 2010-03-16 By Ren (Austin, TX United States) Cheap, flimsy construction. Product arrived smashed not because of inadequate packaging, but because of ridiculously poor manufacture. I wasn't expecting a lot at $10, but this is just pathetic.
"not bad!" 2010-02-12 By A. Simeone (USA) At 10 dollars and free shipping it's a decent deal, the frame is plastic, but the construction seems fine and the mirror is perfect!
"Overpriced, only six dollars at K-Mart..." 2007-10-17 By Ursulo Cook (Running Springs, California United States) Typical glass door mirror with plastic frame, nothing special. Light weight. I bought one at K-Mart for my motor home bathroom door for only five dollars and ninety nine cents, okay, call it six dollars.
Way over priced here.....not to cool to overcharge.Otherwise, a nice light weight mirror that will not overburden wall or door hangers and screws.Five stars for the mirror, zero for the high high high price.
Respectfully,
Mr. Cook
