******UPDATE********** If I could change my star rating, I would rate this item a 1. DON'T BUY IT. THE TABLE FELL APART IN THE FIRST WEEK AND THE CHAIRS DO NOT STAY TOGETHER. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. JUST GO TO IKEA AND SPEND A LITTLE MORE FOR A QUALITY SET!!
Well, let's start with shipping--it's a pretty heavy shipment. It takes about 30 min (no joke) to get the packaging off and even get to the set.
Assembly is simple enough, however the tools they include are a) cheap b) not well thought out. By the second chair, the allen wrench they included was done with. Thankfully, I had my own higher quality one, but one that would last through the whole set would have been nice. And the wrench simply doesn't fit into some tight spaces--had to tighten the legs of the table with pliers.
The support slat on the bottom of the chair is not level, you have to hold it in place with the diagonal side in the correct position so that it doesn't pull the chair apart. Be sure not to get piece 5 and 6 mixed up.
Also, you do need a drill to put the chair seat on, a simple screwdriver won't do this part for you.
The table is pretty uneasy and I fear what would happen if I put something really heavy on it. The chairs are in better shape in terms of sturdiness, if you can get them together well enough.
So, overall, I will give this set a 4 out of 5 because of:
Value (129, can't beat it)
Nice colored wood
Sturdy Chairs
I would give this 3 stars, but I think that for the price, it's outstanding. Just be prepared with a drill instead of using your paws like I did :(
